Based on both social-ecological and cultural competence approaches, the Reaching Rural Veterans (RRV) pilot intervention built on the existing infrastructure of food pantries to improve food security and connect rural, low-income veterans with resources. This article describes the process of implementing and evaluating RRV.”

Work adjustment after combat deployment: Reservist repatriation (2013)
The authors conducted a study with U.S. Army reservists to explore the concerns and obstacles in the process of returning to the civilian workforce following a combat deployment. They explored the adjustment process and obstacles encountered by the returning reservists through interviews over a 12-month period.

Reaching Rural Veterans (RRV) was a “one stop” longitudinal intervention provided at rural Indiana and Kentucky food pantries to enhance resource use among rural, low-income U.S. veterans. Food security, access to resources and dietary quality were evaluated at the beginning and end of a three month period.
