The Military Family Research Institute (MFRI) is a collaborative organization located at Purdue University. Our research, family support and education and employment teams pursue our mission by building programs and partnerships that make a difference to families who serve.
We provide timely and relevant communications to media members who want evidence-informed information. Contact Linda Hughes-Kirchubel, director of external relations, to connect with knowledgeable experts, get information on programs and policies and arrange an interview with our director.
In 1993, Purdue University’s Center for Families embarked on a mission to improve quality of life for families. Seven years later, the center created the MFRI. We are a unit of the Department of Human Development and Family Studies in the College of Health and Human Sciences at Purdue University. One of the world’s premiere research institutions, Purdue is Indiana’s land-grant university, supporting missions of learning, discovery, and engagement.
MFRI’s annual report details our 2015-2016 activities and accomplishments. Read “Research with Impact” to learn how we are making a difference for military and veteran families.
