Raising awareness about PTSD

June is National PTSD Awareness Month.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder is the most common psychiatric result of traumatic exposure, according to the Center for Deployment Psychiatry. The National Center for PTSD says that the disorder impacts between 11-30 percent of all veterans, depending on the era in which they served.

But PTSD can be successfully treated by trained providers. The CDP offers a list of therapies that can help. In addition, the National Center for PTSD offers resources and information for veterans, professionals and those who care about military-connected families.
