Operation Purple Camp to take place in June

Operation Purple® Camp is a program of the National Military Family Association. It aims to give military children tools to help deal with the stresses that result from a parent's deployment. While held at a number of locations throughout the summer, Purdue's Operation Purple Camp is sponsored by the Military Family Research Institute and Purdue University's Department of Health and Kinesiology. It will run June 3-9.

Camp activities will promote resilience, and campers will be able to take full advantage of the large outdoor spaces and excellent sports facilities on and near the university. They will also take part in a host of athletic and educational activities. Field trips, service projects, and daily small group sessions that cover topics such as stress management and interpersonal communication are also on the agenda.

The Purdue camp is open to youth aged 12-17. More information, details on eligibility and how to apply visit the Operation Purple Camp section of the website.
