Institute efforts highlighted

Shelley MacDermid Wadsworth, director of the Military Family Research Institute, discussed the organization’s ongoing work on behalf of military families — active-duty, Guard, Reserve and veterans — during the 3rd Annual Trauma Spectrum conference held Dec. 7-8 in Bethesda, Md.. Presented by the Defense Centers of Excellence for Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury, the National Institutes of Health, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and other federal partners, the conference focused on emerging polytrauma research, and its impact on service members and their families.

MacDermid Wadsworth highlighted MFRI’s Our Heroes’ Tree, Passport Toward Success and other MFRI efforts to boost communities’ awareness of and support for military members, and also talked about MFRI’s partnerships with the Indiana National Guard, the Department of Defense and the Center for Deployment Psychology.
