To commemorate the first Veterans Day in 1919, President Woodrow Wilson declared the nation’s “solemn pride” in the members of its armed forces. That sentiment has grown with each generation that has served in uniform, from World War II to Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm and today’s ongoing global conflicts. On this Veterans Day, the Military Family Research thanks all veterans, and their loved ones, who have sacrificed so much in the pursuit of liberty and peace.
