Next week, SVA will sit down with The American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars to unpack the Veterans Access, Choice, and Accountability Act of 2014 and discuss what the measure means for student veterans.
The Veterans Access, Choice, and Accountability Act of 2014
What does it mean for student veterans?
a Google Hangout On Air
Thursday, August 14
2:00 – 3:00 PM EST
In an open letter, SVA President and CEO D. Wayne Robinson invited members and supporters to attend the online event, and thanked chapters for their state and community advocacy efforts that led the #InState4Vets campaign to victory:
"As we celebrate this hard earned victory here in Washington, DC, we would be remiss to not recognize the thousands of student veterans who played a crucial role in powering these campaigns at the local level. Over the last three years, SVA has been privileged to nurture a growing network of advocates that truly embody the ethos of camaraderie."
Robinson went on to encourage student veterans and advocates to join the dialogue online next Thursday to discuss how the in-state provision and Sgt. Fry Scholarship Program extension will impact veterans in higher education.
