Military Family Research Institute celebrates families at Homecoming

On Saturday, Sept. 28, Purdue University celebrated Homecoming in conjunction with the annual Family Day and Alumni Weekend.

From 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. the Military Family Research Institute hosted a booth located in front of Johnson Hall of Nursing, at the Silent Auction tent for the College of Health and Human Sciences. Purdue faculty, staff, students and alums took the opportunity to stop by and learn more about MFRI's mission, collaborations, and partnerships.

MFRI Director Shelley MacDermid Wadsworth also spoke briefly at the Military Appreciation Tribute, which occurred shortly after 10 a.m. near Armstrong Hall. She joined representatives from Purdue Student Veterans Organization and ROTC in the tribute, which included recorded "shout outs" from Purdue alums who are currently deployed.
