A research paper written by MFRI research associate Abigail Christiansen, director Shelley MacDermid Wadsworth and Gunnur Karakurt, assistant professor of family medicine at Case Western Reserve University, was recently accepted by the Journal of Family Issues.
"Romantic relationships following wartime deployment" is based on qualitative analysis of 101 interviews of 19 study participants. The analysis revealed that couples dealt with various issues, such as ongoing role negotiation and transitions from independence to interdependence.
Journal of Family Issues is a monthly publication that focuses on articles that contain up-to-date research, theory, and analyses on marriage and family life. It is ranked 16 out of 340 in family studies, according to Thomson Reuters 2010 Journal Citation Reports.
