Organizational Mission and Goals

The efforts of the Military Family Research Institute are guided by three strategic goals. As an organization, we endeavor to:

1. Support the military infrastructure that supports families. 
2. Grow the motivation and capacity of civilian communities to support military families before, during, and after deployment.
3. Conduct rigorous and innovative research to increase understanding of and improve supports for military families.

The development of our goals is based upon our mission to extend and strengthen the ability of military and civilian organizations to help military families in Indiana and beyond. Our work strives to survey the current support structures in place, cultivate a new or deeper understanding of what families need, and develop and promote interventions that address the gaps between the current and desired states.
